Are you going to start before Asplunhd shows up? Get what you can of the smaller stuff. It would demonstrate to the landowner, you are truly serious.
It may also pizz people off the neighbors. Most towns have noise ordinances. I’m a early riser. Typically at 4:30-4:45am, but I try to not start power tools any sooner than 7am at the earliest, and my closest neighbor is 325 feet away
Yes, I'll go over when the light comes up. I won't run a saw, but there are some limb pieces I can move with the hand truck.
Oh Lordy another buzzer. Strap down the server and hang on tight. Good score midwinter. Right next to home. Can’t beat that.
Asplundh is back, but I managed a little pile of limbs before they came. This stuff is light, must have been dead. I'm expecting the trunk to be hollow.
Aw, well, easy com easy go. The homeowner just called, his buddy wants the wood. No great loss, low grade red maple that's probably got a fair amount of punk. I'm relieved in a way. At least I tried!
Guess you'll show him. He lives across the street and hasn't seen any of your logs in the front yard or driveway. Where has he been. Lol Well that wasn't nice of him to tell you that can have it them pull the rug out from under you.
Reminds me of the maple score i got just prior to joining FHC last February. Small development went in just diagonal from our driveway. I left one day and a few trunks laying next to road there. Went on a Saturday and Sunday got two PU fulls. You might be a wood hoarder if: your stacks are visible from outer space! Good luck, work smart and safe. Looking forward to follow up pics. Mebbe you can put a GPS tracker on the Asplundh truck?
Yeah we'll see how fast his buddy moves on it. Or, that's just a story, and a logging truck picks it up next week. I get underestimated sometimes. But, I kept it friendly, so you never know...
If he comes introduce him to our wonderful club. It might lead to some good scores and always a good network.
Same thing I was thinking. Just how long will it stay there before it is gone? Oh well, can't win 'em all.
That happened to me once the guy called back the following year and wanted to know if I still wanted the wood? I said No I am all set now. I heard he paid a crew $200.00 to come cleanup the mess a lot of it had rotted. His loss!
Keep us posted on howlong the wood sits there. Sorry you missed out on some easy pickings. As you know, there will be more. Now, which way did that Asplundh truck go?
