Moved the last 40 bags from the garage into the basement. Total in basement is 159 bags. Total in tent garage (as opposed to the garage) is 50. Hmmm, only 4 tons left. Maybe I'll have to start looking around :D

4 tons could last me three to four years! With cold winters, maybe 2 1/2.

I go thru ~6 tons per year (299 bags last year), and I started with a little over 5.5 tons, so will probably need to add to my stash before the year is out. Being in the Monadnock region, our winters are colder and longer than yours for the most part.

Only 2 bags? you gotta get to scrounging girl!

I am right on the ocean so any sea breeze at all in the winter keeps me warm (er). No complaints here!

Went to Ladie's Night at my favored HD dealership. Posed with their Naughty Santa to get (post on FB and tag them and get extra raffle tickets thing). Wish they had been raffling off the bike!

Me and Santa at Ladies Night out Heritage HD 2.jpg

It started raining before I left HD and the roads ou my way got nasty as the air temps had never gotten above the 20's (was in the 30's at the dealership). It warmed up over night so it turned to regular rain. Checked the garage when I got up this morning - yup, sump needed to be plugged in and the extension pipe put on the water outlet. Supposed to get a couple more inches of rain today. May lose most of the snow at that rate.

Don't get me wrong.. I would take the bike. in a second...
But... I am still one that likes chrome on a bike.
Not gobs of it.. but the usual items that should be chromed..
The "new" style, probly to sell more replacement accessories,
    is for blackout..

With the stove things and everything else to do with shells done...I decided to bring a project back off the shelf to fool with.

Here is a piccy of one that was done by another person.

Giving this project the same gusto that the new controls for the stoves got.

Working on an air steering control set up.
I want all the piddly tech stuff done ahead of getting after the big stuff.

Getting the van on the cat chassis is childs play....making it all work seamlessly is yet another issue.

My goal is to have the van be an extension of the cat and basically "Quickly removable" and ready to head to the grocery store....

Drive the Van up onto the chassis and remove the tires/wheels and anchor the wheel hubs to the cat.

Connect up a few air lines and change the drive shaft to allow powering the cat chassis.

If my hunch is correct...the swap should take under an hour with ease.

The steering interface simply sits on the steering wheel (Guided by to studs that locate it) and held secure by 3 zip ties.

Tilt wheel still works, as does all the normal controls....wipers, signals, yada yada yada...
I just got the needed drive shaft parts the other day, and they come from an extended cab S10 pick up.

Working on refubishing the two double cardan u joints that are on the rear shaft.

Just a dirty little job...but not at all hard....

Still snooping for a good used cat chassis that is local....

Picked up the little red rig DIRT CHEAP....The rear end was howling like a 5 alarm cat fight...
All fixed and we use the rig for a beater....
Having a snow cat that's comfortable should be cool
