... walked out to your shop or garage and just aimlessly gazed at your hoarding tools and toys for an extended period of time?

My wife just came down and asked why I didn’t bring up the frozen veggies from the freezer. It was then that I realized I was in a far off world thinking about the standing dead ash tree out back that I will soon turn to firewood.

I think I need to spend some time hoarding this week...

Happens all the time. How about when you see a sweet firewood setup while driving and find yourself on the wrong side of the road!

Same thing here only im usually spying firewood roadside! A FHC version of driving under the influence...of firewood!
You might be a wood hoarder if....youve ever been driving on the wrong side of the road while looking at trees or fresh cut wood roadside! An almost daily occurrence for me!

Does almost running an ATV off a woods trail while staring at a monster oak tree count as DUIF?

Or just the opposite and you see some setup or lack there of and think, what the heck?

Guilty of DUIF. Even when I have no desire or need to scrounge more wood I’ll sometimes just go for a drive to see if there’s any wood laying around. Did just that in the rain today. Almost took down a line of cones right in front of a cop where they were repairing a broken telephone pole. I was looking for the tree that might have broke it.

Another one for me is tractors, or other machinery. Causes a head turn every time. In some cases a driveway turnaround and re/looksie.

depends on how big the oak was!
I was delivering a load of wood in Durham yesterday. Narrow, curvy country back road. I happened to see some fresh cut logs, got FHC whiplash and almost hit a guardrail.. Didnt have time to grab it on the way back. Still plenty around here close by.

I'll sit on a block and gaze upon my woodpiles on occasion. Help to have a beverage in hand to get the full experience.
