Does anyone have a king model ultra that could measure the surface area in front of the convection deck? Is it big enough to put a small pot of water with smelly good stuff or does the deck just take up too much space? Step dad and mom are looking at a used ultra model king. Thanks in advance

I’m sure there is plenty of room for a standard size pot. The deck is very small and the stove top is huge and flat. Even my little princess with a deck has enough room for a pot.
Thanksgiving dinner capable...… Kidding. Just a guess as I've not been around that model but my little 20 series BK with conv/deck could handle several pots/pans etc.
I have a King Ultra, yes, the area ln front of convection deck is 31w x 6d.. But keep in mind the CAT Combustor is right under that spot, so it gets VERY hot..
Yepper, I keep a stainless bowl with water on top of the convection deck, otherwise I’d be refilling every 45 minutes...lol I have used the spot the OP was asking about to boil water for coffee during a power outage,,, it did’nt take very long at all..
Turns out we ended up being late. Someone beat us to the punch. Heck of a deal but a 5 hour ride one way. Still would have made for one heck of a story..... Oh well, wasn't meant to be apparently. Now to find another BK King
