Just figured out why the chain was still dry after the daylight run, which I filled the reservoir for. It’s a manual Oiler! Dummy. The only saw I have that’s close is the 2100CD, which is automatic but has a manual option for the bigger bars.
And the Oiler works also! This thing starts and runs minty. For a fifty something year old saw I’m starting to think there’s no plastic in it, at all.
That 5 Gallon gas can behind the Bar oil, take care of that thing, those are my Favorite, and go for STUPID MONEY, on ebay. I grab those when ever I find them at yard sales. So long as the can itself is in Good shape, all the other parts are available on ebay, and I have several of each on hand, Those were produced under the Gott, Essence, and Rubbermaid Brand names Great cans, and beat the Heck out of the Dayumed, "Spill Proof" Garbage sold now days Doug
I didn’t realize that until my father in law said nearly the same thing a few years ago. I bought that at HD around 2000.
Picked this up over the weekend. Need to clean it up and do some tuning along with a new choke lever. Started from cold in 3 pulls, 20" bar and (I think) four chains. Lets just say it was a little under $200. Will try to post more pictures when I get around to cleaning it up. Not sure if I will keep it or not.
Was able to grab this DIRTY 346 this afternoon. The deal was X if it ran and Y if didn’t We never even got to X. Handle is bent and one of the bar nuts needed a Hy-Torq to get off. And it’s Dirty!
I’ll keep you posted. This was a good find to keep the bench busy over the winter. I don’t think it needs much to bring it back. I do want to see it clean though.
Cutting dead tree's for an elderly neighbor He has 250 acres. Ported 372 with a 268 popup in the 2165 Great running saw. A all original 1986 266 still has 190 comp Never been apart. amazon had d009 24" Oregon's for 40.00 per shipped So i bought a couple.
This thing is DIRTY! And found the two right hand jug bolts not tight and almost loose. And I don’t know what that is under the case. Almost think it’s JB Weld. Case gasket looks all there.
These things seems to come to me groups and plays havoc with my Saw/play money cash flow. Has 145 lbs right now. Ands it’s a little dirty, but the price was right, even with the safety chain.
Do you know how many Wild Things and X2’s I have to wade through until these things pop up? All I can pass along is keep your head on a swivel! And be able to react. I’ve been rehabbing and flipping, saving for a new 372. Even made a deal for one on Friday, but had to wait till Monday at the sellers request. But this guy popped up at a “you Suck” price and I couldn’t pass. And the 346 is coming along, thanks for asking.
Local FB Marketplace find earlier tonight - Works very well, though electric cord is toast & patched together. No big deal,I'll put a new 12 gauge 3 prong 16 footer on it very soon....
