This is what I came home to when I made it early Tuesday evening.

About 6-8" of heavy wet snow with 3/8" or better of ice underneath. Every bush shrub and sapling in sight is crushed down to the ground. Power out to tens of thousands around here. As of this morning, everything is still frozen solid and encased in ice but the sun is out so it's going to start raining ice chunks soon. Left northern New Hampshire with just an inch of two of dry powder on the ground.

Geez! Reminds me of the blizzard/noreaster we had here in early March 2018. Over a foot of crazy glue sticky wet snow took out a massive oak over the lines in the shared driveway. We were stuck homebound for two day and no power for four days. No TV/internet for 8! We managed to survive. Used the snow as mother natures cooler. Everything from the fridge went on the deck!

You werent kidding about the spar. Felled it the "normal" way with front wedge cut and back cut leaving the hinge. Tapped it my wood wedges to finish cut and ended up destroying them. Gotta cut some mew ones. Tapped all the way in and no go. Finally pounded the steel wedge all the way in and then some. Still nothing. Opted to fire up the saw and carefully cut more of the hinge. Finally over she goes. Keep in mind this is only the second time ive felled a big tree with the 36" bar on the 460. Last two pics dark as it was late in the day.
