We have a woods that has a lot of beech in and love it. Do be aware though can can get, what we call, way grain Beech trees. No rhyme or reason as we have had them right next to each other in the woods. They are horrible to split even with no knots. Can't even start a wedge in them without plunge cutting a saw cut. One reason we have hydraulics! Super heavy wood and great BTU's

Wow, I didn't know you would miss it. I might change it back or find one with my son in it.
Which one you like best... FB_IMG_1549203245638.jpg IMG_20180327_181752.jpg

Can you spot the anachronism, besides my grandson?
T.Jeff Veal, I like both pics, but I like the one with the butt-end of that tree best.

yup, i did not see that. Maybe Abe had a two person pull saw to fell the tree or did you see chain saw marks???

GF gets mad at me when we go to the movies as i dont pay attention to the story, but ill look for discrepancies in the movie.
We saw the Will Smith movie "Gemini Man" a while back. One scene the camera pans skyward and theres some trees branches...i whisper "pine and pin oak" :picard: :rolleyes:was her reaction. Another scene, Will Smith is chopping wood, and another with a small stack of splits. Those got my attention. Definitely not T.Jeff Veal 's work as it was set in Georgia. One scene Will Smith actually blurts outs out the word "buzzsaw"! "Thats me" i whispered.
Im surprised she didnt get up and leave. Guess i have a bad case of firewood on the brain!!!

They are a little uneven, but I am a rookie with the saw, so these are my best... plus they’re locust, which I hear is one of the best.

I dont recognize you in long sleeves! Some nice looking stuff! Has the new shed gone together yet? Nice to see you back in action and ill bet it felt good to be "behind the wheel" of a saw again!?
I use the same ear plugs. Gotta ask Santa for new ones. The foam outer part fell off.

Was it all lodgepole pine? I see those lengths turning yellow so I’m naturally going to ask if they were different....usually I think of Black Locust going from an interesting yellow green to that kind of bright yellow orange.
