It really is such a shame that true customer service is no longer done except for a very few.

When I started driving gas was usually around .21 cents per gallon. The cheapest I ever bought gas was one time going through Lansing, MI and found it for 7.9 cents per gallon!

Don't think it was that long ago when green stamps went with the dinosaurs. I remember winning lots of stamps when a company I worked for gave them as prizes.

Never knew that! I learned something today! What years did that stop being incorporated into vehicles?

My “thing” that kids don’t know what they are are payphone booths. Up until 2 years ago, the Albany NY airport had a bank of 5 or 6 of the sit-in kind. People would always be sitting in them, laptops open and on their cell phones...

I used them on some vehicles (some) from the 50's and that would have been about it.

I dont feel as though I am that old but I can remember when I started driving (less than 20 years ago) gas was $0.97 per gallon. We would go to the Outer Banks every summer (grandparents had a house in Nags Head) and gas was $1.20 per gallon in Virginia. We thought that was crazy expensive. What I wouldn't give to pay $1.20 per gallon when filling up now...

I believe it was around 1957 that my father had a texaco station and I remember Super Sky Chief was selling for .249 a gallon.

I remember my father, who was a 3 pack a day man, getting packs out of machines where we lived in Penna.. They were .48 a pack. He would put two quarters in and the pack would come out with .02 taped to the side of it. I always tried to be close by when that took place. It was fairly profitable for me.

What year rottiman? Pre 1964 quarters were 90% silver in the US and worth $3.08 each today. I believe they were 90% silver until 1967 in Canada.

If I remember (some 60 years ago), I think I was between 5 & 10 yo so it would have been in the mid to late 50's maybe the early 60's.

But do you remember when the price went up to $.25 per pack?! I remember lots of folks saying they were going to quit because they were too expensive. Can you imagine a carton costing around $2.00?
