My buddy/customer Joe burns alot of pine in his OWB. I was telling my neighbor iv been burning alot of the pine lately, you shouldve seen the look on his face. He’s a great guy, hes an engineer and incredibly bright but sometimes he can be a little bit of a know it all. I was telling them because Whitney (my wife) works from home if she needs heat during the day, which is rare in my home it holds heat incredibly well, she can feed the stove pine. Him and his wife work from home and i tried to tell him how much hardwood he could save by burning “seasoned pine”.

I love pine. People around here look at me funny when I tell em I burn it. Even got a big separate stack of it. I live in basically a hole in the woods and are surrounded by it, I like hunting old stumps to make fat wood sticks to really get the stove ticking haha. Got more than I know what to do with almost. I’m a hoarder

There's pine all around me for free. Any adds I see say something along the lines of, "for firepit only". I need to get some, I don't mind feeding the stove often, as long as I can keep house warm. Plus like woodwhore said, the days we're in the house all day, save from burning good stuff.

How long are yinz letting it season?

I take alot of dead standing because there is so much. I had stuff dry up real nice in 6 months (a live tree) I feel like it dries pretty fast. I gets very light when its good and dry.

Pine is everywhere for free, if guys are having trouble getting hardwoods then get the fir its everywhere and it will help you save your hardwood. I did a test last sunday and packed the stove with 15-17” pine and i got a 5.5 hour burn. Imagine if they were 22” pieces that my stove actually takes.

The one thing that sucks is selling it because its kinda the same amount of work for less money. There is the fact that its lighter, easier on chains and cuts much faster. Im pretty excited about it, maybe thats because i just got 40 cords of log length for free

    :D :handshake:

I actually have a few sticks of red pine for the basement stove this winter. Its all good-it'll be fine.

I'll just stand next to the stove to re-load immediately! With a fire extinguisher in the other hand!!
