Well, since wildwest linked to this post, I decided to read it and add a couple to it. I know it’s an older thread, but anyone who has not read it will certainly get some enjoyment out of it. I can commiserate with those whose wives let the gas tank get low. Without a doubt when I get into whatever vehicle my wife has been driving, the gas light is on. My running nine with her is that she will run out of gas because her gas light is on so often she will burn out the bulb. But I have had to bring her gas on more than one occasion. And she has had the fuel pump go on two of her vehicles. Maybe it’s just coincidence. But my all time favorite happened a couple weeks after we bought our house about 16 years ago. She would have been about to turn 27. She says to me one afternoon when I get home from work “I think the people down the street are getting an elevator installed in their house.” I asked her two questions. “Have you noticed that house is a ranch?” And “Have you noticed that Otis van is only there in the afternoons and on weekends?” Well the guys must be a good employee because he still has the same job all these years later. There's nothing wrong with his title. You don't have to attempt to shame him because you don't agree.
To most he was commiserating that men have issues too, not just women, I did not read any shaming in his comment. Sorry you took it that way.
Maybe the title of the thread could have been called "Women....you can't live with them; you can't live with them!"
No shaming meant at all. Just a friendly comment that men make these types of mistakes as well. At least I know I do anyway. LOL
I will tell one; this isn't the embarrassing one though. And the embarrassing one is a stupidity embarrassing one. I went to visit my friend one day and when I got inside I saw my large channel lock pliers. I looked at my friend and said, where did you get my pliers? He told me he found them out in front of his house in the gutter. I was working on my car the weekend before and afterwards went over to my friends house. I had place the pliers on the back bumper of the car and forgot about them. I drove up and down hills for some 20 miles and the pliers stayed on the bumper the whole time until I got to my friend's house where they fell off. He believed my story and handed me the pliers and it was a true story. It amazed me that luck was with me that they would fall off in front of his house where he could find them.
