I think I will go sit in a tree in my woods with a 45-70 in my hands
rain/wind is spose to hit us about 5pm maybe a nice buck will be moving before the storm

Took my Mom to the hospital last Thursday. Congestive Heart Failure. so most of my time has been spent visiting her. She is now in the nursing home getting her strength back. Finally manage to get some wood done.
Boy this getting old is hell. Spent the day felling a tree and bucking it and several other downers. Had to give up. My back was killing me. Probably be lying if I said I got 1/2 cord bucked and hauled to the house.
Started moving a stack up to the house. Mini had several problems which I fixed. I got 2 loads up before I said enough is enough.
Butter is clarified and pot is boiling. Crab legs for dinner.

 

Nothing changes you mind like a bike ride.

 

Uggg, hope all goes well for you and your mom.

Haven't had the blower out in two winters. A month ago,
on a hunch....decided to pull it out and stage it. Sure glad I did.








After it stopped...officially 15" in my back yard.
Burn'n big chuncks of russian olive/ponderosa/2x2 redwood
from the deck place.

Well, the weather prognosticator was wrong. It started raining at 330. Saw one doe about 430.
All in all a good day. Clothes are being dried in front of a Drolet.
My neighbor let a film crew do a hunt in his woods yesterday. Outdoor Junkies is the name of the TV show.

He’s a nice one. I don’t think I would have turned him down if I had a good shot.

Delivered wife to medical facility. Test done. They dont want to see her butt for five more years.
Two of our old cars in the shop. $1,100.00 repairs. Old Toyotas are expensive. Needed a wiper motor. There are six left in inventory in the US. No aftermarket available. Still cheaper than new car payments.

Mild temps, so the wood inventory is holding strong.

Sorry about your mom, Marshel54. Yes getting old is hell, but getting wood is good medicine. Just do it in small doses.

 

Been taking it easy. Vacation is gooder! Getting a little odds and ends done here and there. My wife’s son and family Are home from California and are staying with us for a week. Great to see them! We have two spare bedrooms and full bath with laundry over the garage so when any family comes home it makes it very convenient for guest to stay. We use one of the bedrooms as an office as well. We are all going to take in some sites today and have a nice meal out together. My son and I will go workout in a bit before the four West Coasters get up. They are still three hours behind the times. You hoarders have a great day!

 

The big winds just started here. Ash tops are dropping like rain! EAB have killed every one on the farm. I think I’m gonna put the dogs in for the day. They wander the woods a lot during the day and I don’t want one skewered.

Edit: just walked outside and you can hear them snapping off from a half mile away. Sounds like thunder outside.
