Same here.....well, I didn't double or triple post. I did give up on the site for a bit though. Our internet was weird this morning, but I'm obviously back on now. To clarify, the internet is back on.....I'm usually off at least a little.
I have enough IT experience to know that if I can't get in here to check another site and if its working then the site is down and have to sit back and let the guys do their thing.
Lately I think I get more of a 'kick' from a glass of orange juice than a cup of coffee. Course, lately I make a cup, sip it to test it, start my day and often don't get back to the coffee.
Some are not picky about their coffee but the reheat process kinda irks me. I guess I make it fresh enough that I’m not worried about it so much.
I can relate in one way. It’s possibly AFTER a cup of coffee and that becomes the first food related thing as a breakfast part to get in your system. Feels like you got some energy to do something, just eat something before you work. At least I need to most of the time if I work strenuously. Otherwise I get a weird high and that leads to shakes if I’ve only had coffee.
One should never ever drink just a glass of orange juice or coffee for breakfast. Always, always, always something with it, even if it is just a slice of bread to absorb the liquid so that the liquids are processed more slowly. They'r e both stimulants and in the case of the orange juice that's way too much fructose all at once. The fructose dose becomes a glucose which your pancreas will react to the presence of by releasing a reactive amount of insulin . Yeah you get a "kick" but that's not a healthy thing to be doing. There are some meds you shouldn't take on an empty stomach too.
Right I didn’t want to imply that not eating brt is good just depending on the morning can be a quick moving of stuff but I try NOT to work for more than a few until I’ve had something. Just saying I learned that.
I am one that enjoys cream and sweetener in coffee. Tried other ways, but always switched back. I have been using the coconut flavored that is available from aldis stores for around 6 months now and enjoy it! (The coconut version of coffee mate is way too sweet for me)
Sounds good, lately I’ve been hitting my morning sauce with French vanilla. Have had others in the past but this flavor has some coffee wanting to be bitten into. I also have tried this on a weekend... It’s not bad but I’m not yet used to having a boozy cream addition yet.
Wow...............next you will be telling us how you like Coconut Butter skin cream when your at the SPA.............................. Besides, you are sweet enough according to 99.
Mama Bear "made" me try something new in my coffee this past weekend. Im a guy that likes his coffee like my soul, black and almost bitter. However this were good. It is a knock off of Bailey's called Merry's and it was white chocolate flavor. For not being a cream and sugar kinda guy I liked it?!? I hope this doesn't mean I need to turn in my cranky old man membership card!
Don't know how I missed this thread. When I used to manage construction sites I drank massive amounts of coffee. Black, nasty, acidy thick stuff. Now retired and cannot drink more than 2 cups in the AM but really miss those 2 if I don't get them. Only time I vary is when hunting or fishing or wood cutting and a cup mid afternoon with sugar and cream is a pickmeup. I will drink coffee black, cream, or cream and sugar depending on mood or circumstance. We have a Cuisinart drip coffee maker with the auto start feature, which I use upon occasion. I have a private connection with a Seattle coffee shop named "Morning Star" and we get the Ethiopian med dark roast, bean or grind. I get up early in the AM and make the coffee and start the woodstove. Wif gets up to fix me breakfast when all is toasty warm and the coffee smell is all through the house. Nice trade off! Then we sit by the fire and plan our day. Next coffee maker we get will have the auto grind/auto start feature so we can have fresh ground beans in the auto start mode!
Glad you found it Russ, I realized there wasn’t a thread about coffee and as you can see, I’ve gone from a soda to just pretty straight coffee. I just don’t like drinking the black, its much more acidic than I can tolerate. Cream just makes it less likely for that heartburn reflux. Much like you I like two cups, but usually mine are in larger than average cups so one works fine. Good luck finding your next machine! Always pros and cons to them.
