I've heard of grilling on plank boards, never tried it myself.

SKEETER McCLUSKEY you ever use grilling planks?

I've seen them around, I used them once or twice on my gas grill for salmon. I want to say it was cedar plank.

The planks might be a good choice if you only have a gas grill.

Cedar planks are pretty common in stores around here. You generally find them around the fish section.

Yup, I've heard of them and seen them but still prefer to use them as cutting boards. :handshake:

Well.. not really. It's on a former tree plantation. The majority of the trees are something called longleaf pine. Some oaks, but small.

It's primarily a retirement community. But, owner built houses, with association fees. They like it. I'm still liking my wood stove back home.

It's the 3rd time we've driven down for an extended Thanksgiving visit.

We are glad to have you down south for a visit. It's been in low-mid 30's here in GA. Those long leaf pine was what our old growth timber was. Made beautiful lumber, very rot resistance. Still some stumps in the woods over 100 yrs old. Fat wood...this was a stump we had, gave some away at a GTG... IMG_20190425_102652420.jpg IMG_20190425_215559.jpg The pine straw from those and the slash pines is highly sought after for landscaping as well.
