Scrounged a trailer load of white oak today! Rounds already cut to 16” +/- an inch. Easy pickins. Just had to roll them aboard. I probably overloaded my trailer by about 500 lbs. so I took it easy on the way home for sure. I figure the haul was about 15 linear ft of 24” diameter rounds. So somewhere in the vicinity of 2,500 lbs. Looking forward to splitting!

Very nice, indeed... trailer doesn't look overloaded. That will split so good. Great score

Tires look like they have just a little squish.
    Going slow is always good.
It can be good to jack the trailer up, try to wiggle the tires/bearings and then listen to the bearings and hope they're not talking/growling at cha.

Winter hasn't been too hard on that juniper/arborvitae in the background of the first pic.

2B7B8B14-E50E-4BCB-93F4-D323829CA288.jpeg My least favorite part of dealing with bigger rounds is getting them quartered. Just a awkward process I have not yet perfected. Glad to get that behind me today with this trailer load!

I see the little leverage pieces. Getting those large rounds setup is tough. Whenever I don’t have them setup perfectly, my splitter walks back. An hour later and I’m 10 feet from where I started. Still trying to perfect the split as well.
