The first three pictures are the Cherry I bucked up last week, the rest of the pictures are from a Cherry that I started late this winter, I did buck up around 12 - 16 rounds off the Cherry today.
You have some good size rounds left. Looks like a good days work you got done, and another half a cord to go. Nice job and great wood you have there!
The bigger one that was uprooted was hung up for about four years, it finally came down about a year or so ago.
Yes it does Stinny, It would be nice to have more work days like this but the battery for the boat will be in Sunday afternoon so weather permitting we'll start the boat rides soon.
The hauling and stacking should start tomorrow, once this Cherry is up I have a nice size Red Maple down from last years wind storm that I'll start on. Because of the weather I'm about a month behind what I planned on doing, I still have a chit load of Pine that needs splitting too.
dammm....wish I had access to that much Cherry all the time...I'd have a Woodmizer or similar mill pretty quickly.Cut back to part time for a few years until I fully retired & saw/sell boards all day long.
That sucks. About 90% of the biggest part of the trunk from that big Cherry my tree service contact dumped in backyard 3 weeks ago was riddled with holes.Big old tree in semi rural area,one huge cavity,couple smaller broken limbs from long ago storm damage. Just full of carpenter ants,grubs & dirt.Cleaned up fairly easily though.Managed to save maybe 5% for nice clear blocks,everything else will be fuel or for the smoker.
