Good morning everyone! Where were we? Saturday I had my grandson, and yesterday I tightened up the yard some more. I finally got the rubber cover on the oak stack, and moved the closet maid and cinderblock wood platform out of the driveway and into the back yard, next to the pool. It will make a good place to put fresh splits, as I chomp my way through the wood from Winchester. The next big chore is cleaning out the garden shed, and stuffing the plant pots back inside.
The cat is feeling better, yesterday she caught a chipmunk and a mouse!
    Have a good day all.

Got a little more work to do at our son's house too. Go back to work on Thursday. Gonna be a busy couple days, for sure.

    Good morning, everyone.

Big day today. Annual septic tank pump out day!!!! Whoooooo...

Always in mid-November, before the snow sticks.

Not too much in plan this week, regarding firewood. We're headed to Southport NC, on Friday, via the delmarva penninsula. Heading to my SIL's, for an extended Thanksgiving stay. We'll stop overnight, aso it's about a 17hr drive.

We have a list of things to pick up to take. Some regional things like Moxie, B&M baked beans....a few other things.

....you know how.....sometimes.....you think about a project, plan it out, get all the
stuff you need.....then do it. It turns out to actually be easier than you thought it
would be...... Then, it's done. You are very satisfied w/the results of your efforts.
....then feel kind of empty....because its done.

Just replaced the kitchen sink w/stainless steel sink.
Cleaned up the wiring for the garbage disposal.
Made it all look very nice and tidy.

Anybody need a porcelain on cast iron, double kitchen sink.

    You pay the shipping. :smoke:

Does the greenhouse have running water? Use it to hydrate potting mix?

Greenhouse has running water in the summer when I have ditch water
and cistern is full. It has running water in the winter when I run
it out there in my watering cans.

I have thought about trying to use it for something like that....
but it is just too big and way too heavy.
    Keep thinking.

Good morning everyone! Rain this AM until noon or so. I need to work on wood, yesterday all I did was burn it. Maybe I can do some cutting of the big pile of skinnies in the front yard. Got to clear out some cobwebs!
Wishing you all good weather and a productive day.

Do you have a way to elevate those logs, to cut them? A sawbuck, of some kind?

    I do. 57605_400x400.jpg
Not ideal, but it was cheap. I'd like to try out one of these: forest-master-log-splitter-accessories-80-933-64_1000.jpg The drawback with both of these is that you have to put your saw down to stage the next log. A lot of times, I just criss-cross the logs on the ground, and cut them there.
For as many skinny logs as I have, I should try and build one of those "poor man" sawbucks.

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. We are off to do a side job of mulching leaves/grass, clean gutters and pressure wash their house. Then this afternoon we deliver a load of wood. Go visit mama tonight. Didn't get back from Alabama in time yesterday.

Here are a few pictures from our visit to Alabama. Some beautiful hardwood ridges, firewood cutters dream if you had access. How many logs do you think would fit that metal sawbuck? 3-4-5? You could then ratchet strap, or use something else to hold them together , while you saw through as many as will fit.
