I have 21F here this am, it is not supposed to warm up much more than 10 deg or so for the high. Cherry is the heat for a while, I have over a cord in the stack I'm picking from right now.

Same temp we have here. 19, wind chill of 9. Still toasty in the place from last night's load of silver maple and pine. Guess we'll run the same mix during the day today, supposed to be sunny and 34, great for spending some time outside!

Was 34 & 72 when I got up at 5:15. Still had half a stove full of ash and locust, threw a few more of the same on top.

18 out and 76 inside when I got up at 5:30. Loaded up with beech now for the day. Supposed to top out around 30 with wind and I’ll be splitting and stacking the cord or so of beech I scored yesterday. Great splitting weather

Was 22F overnight, 25 now. Going up to mid 30's. Cleaned a bucket of ashes out of the boiler & pulled the battery out of my skidder to charge it a bit. Loaded with Catalpa & Oak. Headed down to the log deck to buck some Oak logs. Good day for that, gonna be some sun!

35* now and rather windy. Not sure what it was when I was in the stand at 5:30 this morning, but cold.
Woke up and house was below 60* , seems someone refuses to have oil furnace kick on:whistle:. About 77* now.

We have a pineapple express bearing down on the west coast so it will keep all of southern BC mild for a few days. We are at about 2c/35f right now with a load of spruce and doug fir in the stove. Being such a mild day my wife decided to do a self clean of the oven and open up the windows! Fresh air mixed with oven smoke.... Im going to do some meat smoking and putter around the yard today before the rains start.

It's a danged shame for sure. My back is beyond awful right now. Before next year I have to do something different for deer blinds. I'm thinking about office chairs in them or something similar.

I see we are predicted a short warm up for next week. Good. I'd like to see all the snow gone for a few more weeks.

Sorry to hear about your back. I know what thats like. Ive had days during flare-ups that I could barely lift my feet through an exterior doorway. As you know walking is the best if you can make it work. I have a good friend who is a welder who walks his dog 3 hours a day just to keep his body loose and his back from seizing up when hes not at work. I think he walks more than anyone in town. No doubt you have those ice traction cleats you put on your feet so you dont slip on the ice. Ive started wearing them ice fishing and they're great.

2c/35f tonight. Nice and mild but a bit gusty. Its hard to believe that there are wind gusts clocking 120 km/74 miles per hour a half hour drive from here. Spruce is keeping the house warm.

33f bit rain so leaves are wet so OWB can burn hard again . Could take Ash out without worrying about setting leaves on fire. Ya burning oak slabs and bit of Basswood .. I think wet basswood makes more Ash then wood I put in ..

17* here, and just re-lit with Cherry. The small ponds and bays and coves on the lakes are getting a nice coat of early ice on them over the last week of cold weather. Could be some real nice skating once we get 3 or 4 inches of hard clear ice. Still a ways to go yet, we'll see, here's hoping!
