This is one of six large Ash trees that I need to remove this winter. There are several medium ones but the large ones are my main focus. I fell the tree a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to splitting it. My boy and I used a Fiskars and a 8 lb maul. We are replenishing our stacks for the future. I am still trying to find time to do a wood shed that would hold 3-4 years worth.
This load is 95% Ash and a couple of pieces of Cherry.

This stack is Oak, it’s been seasoning for two years:

This is next seasons Ash and Maple:

I am adding Ash to this stack. It already has Mulberry and Maple in it:

This stack is a friends stack that doesn’t have room at his house to season wood:

I’m going to replenish my stacks this year with all the Ash I need to take down. My friend will be here to help and another friend has a bobcat with a grapple. There will be plenty Of wood for us all. I still have trees in the woods to deal with. All the Ash are around the house.

We'll be burning sah for years to come thanks to EAB. Great stacks! How much is there? I'll soon be taking down the last big ash on my place. Then I'll have about 25 small ones to deal with.

Nice . Been splitting some ash today as well. I only have about 2 cords to do. Nothing like that. :salute:

Sweet! I guess you measure your supply in how many paces it takes to walk one end to the other instead of cords.

Rough estimate, 11 cords or so. We have 6.5 -7 cords in the shed for this winter. I need to take some measurements and put them in the cord calculator and find out how many cords are truly stacked in the field.

In this part of the country ash is one of my favorites. Nice haul.

Nice! If there was ever a perfect scenario for a drying wood location, thats it! I think you and Dakota Hoarder have a competition going for longest stacks!

I just did a search and Dakota Hoarder takes the title for the longest stack. After posting the pics of the stacks I got curious so I took my measuring wheel, tape measure, calculator and pen and paper out to the stacks. With the wood from the trailer stacked there are 13 cords total. 6 cords are ready to burn and the rest are in different phases of seasoning. The 6.5 cords that is in the shed is seasoned and ready to burn. I’m grateful to have access to Ash but I hate that it’s dying. I would love to cut up something else for a change.

Just measured my long stack today 120’-5’-18”

According to the cord calculator comes in at right around 7 cord.

Not sure where I measure up to OhioStihl?

I have to be careful. One direction is the pond and the other direction is the driveway.

My wood only goes one way. I’ll just have to have multiple stacks that go one way.
