As you can see they were a pretty good size. I broke out the Richmond with the 24 inch bar. It was tight, hung one up, it was pretty tense for while. almost took out the fence with this one Buckedem to 16 inch, might split them tomorrow. Yes I am bored tonite
Great post ironpony - after a long week - that was just the laugh i needed - that bar looks pretty new - breaking it in on the maples?
Dude, give those a couple years in the sun and wind and they should burn for a couple minutes apiece.....easy. Great haul. Some guys may have used a longer bar to avoid bending too much, but I see you toughed it out. Pics of the stacks next?
Even the 24" bar may have needed an upgrade on those trees, monsters. I wonder how many chains you went through
My daughter has a saw that would have worked there I think. http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/g3lqJX1u6qo/maxresdefault.jpg
At least 3 years on the stacks. Gotta get those split really small or the middle centimeter of those will be at least 5% moisture.
Thanks guys, thought it would b a good laugh. Wife has wanted them gone for a while, block the view of the bird feeders.
I don't think I would have even attempted to fell that one being so close to the house and all. Nice job
There's gonna be a lot of brush in those tops. You gonna rent a chipper? I'd go 40HP diesel minimum if you do.
