What a day, driveway is a solid sheet of ice, it’s 5° at five in the morning, I don’t mind winter but does it really need to show up in November?

I'm sure you've replaced the thermostat? Nice easy fix there.

It's possible the heater core is clogged, but more possible this....

(This is a copy and paste from a jeep group ive joined over on the the great facebook)
Just to get you guys up to speed.

Ive got a little to no heat issue and its about to cause me to ghost ride the jeep into a river. This chit is beyond old.

About 2 months ago i discovered that the heater core wasnt completely plugged up but it was close to it, i flushed it, i flushed the entire system multiple times. I have fantastic flow through the heater core in and out both hoses, no matter the direction, coolant/water flows great.

I have an electric blend door actuator, i can visually see it rotating when i am changing the hot/cool settings. I can also hear a change in air flow from the heater box/ac box when i change the hot/cool settings from hot to cool and vise versa.

My blower motor works great, my diverter works, i can change from feet to defrost or to upper air flow, all that chit works. I have SOME heat, very very little. The urine i spew out when i use the restroom is warmer then the air i get out of my vents, i'll put it that way...

I had a vehicle that would blow warm air at best. I could live with it and figured the lines were clogging up. But then. I had the t-stat replaced and wow! It was one of those Aunt Jemima moments.... "what took you so long"!!!!

    That's why I suggested it.

Should be it then, I had that issue on my 93 4.0 powered ZJ. This guy said it fixes the issue 9 out of 10 times.

I'll dig into that tomorrow after work. Water pump has to come off.

I'll probably go ahead and buy a new waterpump and inlet pipe before i dig that far into er.
Good piece of mind also that ive got some more new parts..

I had mentioned that pipe possibly clogging on a jeep forum im on but havent got a reply yet.

I had a clogged radiator when I bought the Blaze in 1993, someone put in sealer like "fix a flat" for radiators and over the years it disintegrated and pieces worked into the lines (and thermostat). Granted it caused other troubles but warm heater was one of the first to go.

Not if you take a cutoff wheel to that steel heater line...if you cut the 90 off it you can just screw the rest on out...rod it out, re-install, then replace heater hose with new longer hose...should take about 20 minutes :D

A new pump is about $30. Cheap insurance is right.

I used to be a jeeper. Daily drove a zj for 8+ years after my mom drove it for a long time. Plus my family had a 2000 xj, a 99 wj 4.7, and I helped my brother do a frame on resto of an cj-7.

That too. Just need a longer hose. My luck would be that the thread piece would snap off, and I'd have to replace the pump anyway.

Well, i think you guys found my problem..

I went outside, pulled the hose off between the heater core and inlet pipe, slid on a different hose thats about 3' long onto the inlet pipe, filled it with water and then hit it with a big ol load of compressed air.

    FREAKIN HEAT WORKS
