We've already hit our high of 35. Cooler overnight for the next couple days then daytime highs into the mid 30's for the week. Less fuel consumed. It's a gooder thing. Wife put the chickens in their coop for the winter yesterday.
No fires for us. It's been 68 to 71 each day for the last few weeks. It still gets into the mid 30s at night so maybe just to keep my skills up , I'll start one tonight... Been a very dry (even for the high desert) month. Hopefully by the end of November our storm door opens and we get some precipitation...
Originally up to a foot Tues to wed, but maybe lower totals now? Last storm, the snow was sullosed to stop but didn't for 24 hrs. Luckily the ground still had some warmth, so only about 3" stuck. Plenty of cold air in place
Single digits on the menu with a side of snow (8"-14") over the next day and a half. (The side will be outside) We'll see.
2-5" predicted here through Tuesday night, not a huge deal, but sub zero wind chills will cause issues for drivers that forget Winter comes every year. 34F & dropping now with a brisk NW wind, Oak & Pine in the boiler.
46* s.....down in the lowlands its 35-38*. No fire today....cleanin out the stove....teens tues. n wednes. nights...
18F. Beech and a piece of Maple in the Wood Gun. Some snow coming later today and through the overnight. Somewhere between 3-8” apparently.
Good morning! Thats chilly! Its -21c/-6f this morning for us but Im not home this weekend. Instead Ive been at a hot springs since Saturday doing lots of relaxing with the family. We will spend some time in the water today and then do the 2.5 hour drive home. Ill be waking up the stove when I get home for sure!
Brrrr.... You and Rope probably live in the coldest climates. We definitely have our frigid days in Colorado. But it rarely drops below zero here. Maybe just a handful of times per year.
18F right now. Burning through my early season popple still right now. Wasn't expecting it to get this cold so soon! Expecting single digits tonight.
It's been snowing here since before daylight. I went out hunting a bit after 6:00 and there was just a little snow on the ground but it did not take long to get a complete cover. However, it does not look like we'll get much, which is okay with me.
I reckon i'm about due west of you so what I have will probably relate to you as far as weather goes. It's still lightly snowing here now. Maybe got about 2" on certain surfaces. 1" overall average maybe.
That for sure can be true sometimes but believe it or not, by the time it gets to us, most times it has almost or completely petered out. That is frustrating during the summer when we need moisture and watch it coming but get none.
32 now. Snowing sideways and temperature has fallen about 10* since I woke up. Supposed to get 1-3". Boiler is digesting some random chunks of oak, walnut, poplar, and ash. I'll load it up again this evening...supposed to hit a record low of 11 tonight with a 15MPH NNW wind.
