Unfortunately that is very true & has been happening here for quite some time. If I had any children there I would pull them immediately.Eat ramen noodles daily, turn in cans/bottles (do that anyway),work 3 jobs & make whatever sacrifices needed to send them to a private Catholic school.
Personally, I like the idea of everyone being a winner. If only I could apply when I want to. For example. I'm at the local auto shop getting the state inspection done on my truck. Just imagine how it would be if everyone won... No one would ever FAIL the inspection. No anxiety seeing the car on the lift. No fear of a huge mechanic's bill to get it fixed. Get pulled over by the police? Everyone gets a warning.. No tickets, no court date to have a judge tell you that you were proven guilty of a motor vehicle infraction. Hmmmmmm now to implement my plan.. Then again, maybe we are better off having winners and losers with everyone learning to cope with the outcome.. Good discussion..
Believe me I know how that goes and my 3 year old is a pistol. The over reaction of the grandmom is what got me brewing. She did not see the incident either but automatically starting ranting about it. Started out she thought they bumped heads. I wish I would have seen it. I don't doubt my boy hit him just not sure why. If it was him hitting first I would have punished him. But at the same time kids are kids and don't know how to react to certain situations. Not that hitting is right but at that age its a fight or flight instinct at its truest instance.
My wife quit her job to raise our now 6 month old son. She did not make that much money and by the time you buy the fuel and pay daycare she would of brought home $500-600 a month or maybe more? It just was not worth it for that kind of money and to have someone else raise your child her to be to tired to make dinner or pick up the house or even play with our son was a major deciding factor for her to stay home.
My wife and I both took a year off from work when our son was born... Now we juggle our schedules so one of us is always at home with him. I couldn't imagine sending him to daycare.
Well if I took a yr off work we would be bankrupt and would have been foreclosed on and have nothing so me quitting or being at the house during the day won't happen. Her thats a d different story.
I hear ya. We were very lucky to be able to do it. A lot of people thought we were crazy. And honestly everyday things have gotten so expensive I'm not sure we could afford to do it today. My SIL had a baby about the same time and was counting down the days on Facebook until the baby was old enough to go to daycare. She couldn't wait to send her 6 week old off so she could go back to work... Why even have a baby??

My daughter is almost 3. Never been with a baby sitter or daycare. Mother In Law watches her 3 days a week, and I take her to my office 2 days. It's not easy by any means, but we have made it work.
We have no family closer than 1.5 hours away. Nor many friends. We will watch him always. That happens when u move to a small area for work that your not from.
