I am not digging the time change this year. Too dark, too early.

Thanks yooperdave ! Been a nice day, just back from dinner with the kids & grand kids. As for this area, I think it's pretty much a lost cause lol. Too many City types any more.

Well I got both worlds. One of my bragging rights has been that I saw KISS and AC/DC with Bonn Scott was the opening act. I still can see the lead guitarist being carried on the shoulders of some roadies, all around the center level of Market Square arena, jamming the whole time. The following summer AC/DC started getting g radio time, and exploded.

Every time I hunt from the ground, I'm in a hut/ shack/ shanty with an old cast iron stove. A few splits, chunks sticks and it heats it up well, even with open windows/ slots to shoot from. I've seen over my lifetime that deer don't care about smoke from a fire. As noted above, it might actually draw them in.

Cool stuff. Kinda like how I saw Nirvana in Chicago right after "nevermind" was released, before "smells like teen spirit" was released as a single, and then Nirvana got HUGE. My brother and I were big fans of them from thier "bleach" album.

Along those lines I knew a guy who would, two weeks before hunting season, take a garbage bag up to the roof and catch the wood smoke coming out of the chimney with it. He’d then throw his hunting clothes in the bag and let them sit until opening day. I asked him why he did that. He said it was a great cover scent as so many people where he hunted heated their houses with wood that the deer was used to it. So, I guess that’s what happened with your blind.

My son loves Nirvana, and his band plays a few covers of theirs. His band also opened for the then official Nirvana tribute band, Nevermind, whenever they were in NY. He went out to Chicago, from NY, to see Soundgarden during their comeback tour, at the Vic. He wasn’t old enough to have seen Nirvana live, but he did get to see the Foo Fighters a couple times. Surprised to hear you are into Nirvana.

It usually bothers me a lot, but this year, not so much. I have no idea why.

Yet AC/DC fails to be awarded your acceptance? Dam. Those boy's are still rockin' it. :dex:
When asked, Kurt Cobain had no response....
AC/DC is , and has always been, basic - awesome - relatable- Rock songs. !!

Nope, where I hunted was 6 miles from blacktop road that was populated on one side of the road...seasonally (lake frontage). The abandoned logging road I traveled to get to our spot had not much traffic due to it's poor condition. What I'm getting at is there was no wood smoke around those parts-that is why I was concerned about it. I think smoke is a naturally occurring smell for animals due to good ol' ma nature.

Got the truck stuck back in there one night during a snowstorm. 2f 1/2 hours to walk out to get brother to pull us out. I got stuck in the mud, not the snow. The 16" of snow we got was just frosting on the cake!!! And yeah, we got a buck!

    Here's my stance on this.
While Kurt Cobain had a brief career/ life, what he wrote and performed with that time is pretty hard to duplicate. His lyrics are deep, thoughtful ones, unlike what ac/DC has.

Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Buddy Holly and others all died way too young.

Yes. And I saw about 25 does this morning but never even considered shooting one. Saw 3 bucks. One was close enough to shoot but was small so I let it go.

I spend most of my weekend crawling around in attics. I had to install a new bathroom exhaust fan at my parents' house and run power and coax for wall mount TV at my house. I feel like somebody beat me with a large stick today.

This morning I helped my BIL frame up a new exterior wall and install a new window today. I'd take 60 of those jobs over attic work.

Getting ready to start my garage remodel. Should be easy compared to some things I've done around here. New windows, OSB on the walls, a little wiring and add insulation. Adding a heater tied into the OWB too. Wonder what kind of stupidity I'll find once I strip it down to the studs.
