Not sure what Dolmar does...but they feel much better than a Husky..in my hands anyway . And Im a Husky guy !! But slowly going to the Dolmars . Keeps it interesting !!!
32 or 36" bar I've got a lot of big trees at my cabin that need to be harvested. My 372 I run now has a 36" bar and it won't cut clear through the base of these big ol trees!
So far good info thanks guys! The only reason I looked at Dolmar is we recently got a dealer close to me. I like the idea of extra output of the 7910 while only adding 1lb vs going to a modified 372 that may not get the added ponies of the Dolmar. The other option is 395 Husqvarna which I had and didn't care for the extra weight vs 372. Thanks for all the input fellers.
The 372 and 7910 are both between 14 and 15 lbs. The 7900 has a good power edge over the 372. Neither really has the oiler to run a 36" all the time. A 385/390 is a good step up in oiler and power without a huge weight penalty of the 395.
Is it me? Or does 4" of bar from a 32 to a 36 seem like a foot and a half?? I don't mind a 32", but I sorta hate my 36... Love a 28"...
I understand completely ! Except for me its from 16 inch to 20 inch that feels that way . Gotta keep that weight close to the body
It sure does. A 30" is my preferred length. May pick up a 34" light weight soon. I need to get a 20" for my 550. A 16" is too short for me to use comfortably.
What about the anti-vib on the Dolmar? I'm sure it's pretty damm good otherwise people would do nothing but complain about it!

I have a couple 7900's and a half dozen 372's. The 7900 has a heavier fell to me than my 372's. I believe the 7900 to have a little more umpf. The oiler limits the bar length on either one to about the same amount. 28" is the practical limit but with clean green wood you can run 32's.
A 32" will oil on them barely. Its about like a stihl on the oilers. A bit stingy unless you upgrade to the HO oiler. You can open the bar oil hole and get more oil flow.
This is true. It is amazing how good even a 359 sounds. Always loved the way some of the Huskies sound at idle.
