He's got a gasification OWB, I don't know how feasible that is, but he may be able to set some where they get radiant heat from the owb.
Agreed, but then my wife would ask me what the heck I was doing putting firewood in the middle of the kitchen floor.
The free grappled load of red oak im currently getting in between working the quarry was sitting in the shade for 3 years 10 -12 foot lengths. First load about a month and a half ago was css. The moisture content was through the roof then. Its been stacked loosely on a pallet, i just put 3 splits in my kindling tire and beat em up. Moisture content is 20-22% now
I guess with all the gin and tonics that gets sloshed over it the whole idea was doomed from the start.
Here’s that red oak ( pallet back rt) that was laying log length in the shade for 3 years, split 9/28/19 moisture was beeping like crazy when split over 40%. So 41 days later burning in my stove last night (no sizzle) had to open windows at a cool temp of 83 inside.
Iv been catching up on leaves and getting the processing areas ready b4 snow. Wife's friend would like the rest of that red oak gone soon and quarry is in good shape, but ill be back there in a few days. Lots there still but i think i have a 1/2 dozen or more truck loads of red oak to go.
