This came up in my area, actually 3 miles down the road from me... I want to message the guy and offer $50 a cord, because it is not technically firewood until cut and split, but I don't want to offend him. He says there is around 18 cords... Screenshot_20191105-051632_Facebook.jpg He is actually my son's old football coach. Any opinions or words of wisdom from you guys? Screenshot_20191105-051744_Facebook.jpg

For that price, I could get almost 20 full hardwood cord here.

How much do you figure is there?

It’s not likely to sell at that price. I would let him sit on them for a couple of weeks, and then swoop in for the kill at $50 per cord. To heck with offending him, it’s bidness.

Tell him if he can’t sell it for what he wants you are prepared to give him $50 a cord.

Call around to see what a cord of log length firewood would cost. Try to get a few different prices and go from there.

What does a delivered log load go for near you? If you know that, work down from there

I do not recognize the add format but if you reply does it stay anonymous ? If so just send an offer he will either not reply or reply yes or no.

Im CHEEEP and take for granted i get my wood for free, so i would lowball the guy. Price out what similar wood is going for.
All depends on how desperate you are. It is convenient and maybe as you know him he'll cut you a deal. You have to take all of it?

He says 18 cord...figuring the crew that cut it told him that. Maybe there is a lot that he didn't picture.

Anywhere from 500 to 800 I have seen. So he is right in the ballpark if he really has 18 cords. That's saying there are 8 to 9 cords on a log truck.

However a log truck will deliver it to your place & put where you want it. That’s a lot of time & labor savings compared to what you’ll have in moving it & handling it. Just my opinion, maybe I’m missing something.:tears:
