Well, as long as he doesn't ground that chain or pinch the bar with that cut he's okay. I can't tell if he has hearing protection or chaps. If not, that could be a problem. ;)

I meant it was to talk him into doing for himself. I probably didn't make that clear.

So you have little more work to do. Has chainsaw, running, cutting, now just add to the skill level.

First pic is so shiny and clean it should say Fisher-Price 'My first chainsaw' instead of Stihl.

He's doing it wrong. You need a big rock hidden in the dirt to sharpen a chain properly.

Nothing like a brand new saw! Got a brand new Stihl 261 over the Summer and started using it in September.
I cringe looking at that pic hoping the brand new chain doesnt hit the pavement. A dull saw is no fun to use, not too mention very dangerous. Log should be properly propped off ground so it doesnt pinch and bind saw. Ideally on a sawhorse. Id like to see long pants.
I like the saw (what model BTW?) and wish him well with it. Hopefully it will inspire him some. Be safe and hoard on guys!:tree:

    What is that...you feel it?
Almost feels like our chains are being yanked...
