Forecast I saw today says it's possible for some snow on Fri but too far out to make a call yet. Guess I'll get the snowblower prepped tomorrow while it's still nice out just in case. And start getting the shrink film up on the windows.

Yesterday the dry east winds we have been having finally let up and the general consensus is for a more normal onshore flow to resume.

With the winds letting up and the humidity getting much higher it is waaaaaaaaay easier to heat the shack.

Ran the big stove alone last night and even on low the house was TOASTY with the outdoor temps up a fair bit than they have been in the past several days.

37 F last night and calm out as compared to upper 20's F and 25 mph dry winds. the past week. Humidity at 84% this morning....it has been down as low as 20% over the past week.

I am not crazy about the cold dry winds.
We needed both stoves running on low/med settings to keep the house at 70 F at night with the dry wind and lower temps.

Damper weather makes it far easier on the amount of fuel we are burning.

If we get cold down in the single digits and no snow on the roof its a tough slog to keep the shack warm, simply because with those types of temps we will always have a stiff East wind too......

Today is gonna be a lovely day....MAYBE we will run the Munchy and plow through more of the half shells...and get them stove ready...

Rain coming by weeks end is the buzzword

Went to the last HOG meeting of the season. Wimped out and didn't ride (it was low 30's). After I got back home, I loaded a drop-leaf kitchen table and chair into the Explorer. Took those to a friend who needed it for her new apartment. That table had been in my spare room holding crap, and it was one that I had refinished that came out really nice, so I'm glad it is going somewhere it will be used and appreciated. Then went and loaded up from her storage unit and delivered that. She was pretty much bushed, so let her know I was available next weekend to move more stuff.

Finally having lunch, leftovers from last night's dinner from the local Mexican hole in the wall. Going to sit and watch football, cuddle with cats, read and maybe nap a bit.

Sent the carved pumpkins outside off to the compost crate. Dumped some more later and the bugs were in heaven.

Started taking down decorations as well. New front door seems to be a huge improvement draft wise over the old one.

Really nice to have the humidity back up.....93% this morning with fog here at the ranch.
Little stove kept the house quite comfy all night long even with the temps in the mid 30's F

Also makes the old body not squeak as much when I move

So far so good, the thing burns nice. The best thing I like about it is the ease of cleaning.....super easy. The couple things I don't like about it is its somewhat loud stove with the clunking of the feed system and such. I do like the stove though but I'm still going to hang on to my Quad yet.

I lowered the fan speed a bit and oiled it. Seems to have helped a lot.
