We only got a little rain here. Enough to stop the splitting for a bit. But not enough to keep my son and I away for long. My ten year old son works harder than some adults that I know. Very proud of the him!

I spent a lot of money on that splitter, but I think it will be worth it. I think I might sell a little wood to my brother, at a good price of course, to help pay it off quicker. I am almost there already.

When we first purchased our splitter, we had considered renting it out by the hour or the day but the cost of liability insurance made that scheme prohibitive.
Our son in-law had used the splitter and was returning it but got pulled over by the local RCMP. They wanted to know where they could rent it from. When they found out the machine was not for rent, they gave him a $120.00 ticket for not having his seatbelt on!

Got started about 7:15 this morning in a misty rain. Making a little progress.

Piling up now. I'm going on a large fountain Mountain Dew and an Apple Danish from Tim Horton's. LOL

A nice size piece of maple in there. My back and the back of my legs will be sore after pushing this hard.

Still more to go. That was a good size pile of round made over the winter. I still have 2-3 cord of rounds to get through.

I wish my rounds looked like yours! Mine are (were, all done now!) the kind you consider using a forktruck to move. I distinctly remember telling myself that I need to work smaller trees. But then I keep buying bigger saws......

The stacking will wait until I have my small army to help. It is surprising how fast it goes with the wife and three kids helping!

 :lol:You are right about the second part, that is for sure! I also don't mind stacking at all. But I won't let the wife or kids run the splitter. So I have to stay ahead of them. We have had a few times where they were waiting on the wood to come from me and the splitter to them for stacking. Not as much fun for them as when they have a whole pile to keep them busy! Boy I have seen some nice 05-06 Tundra's for sale in your neighborhood!

Hopefully today! I am giving the neighbor an extra couple of hours this morning before I fire the splitter up. Going to get some breakfast in me and get out there and start stacking. Then fire up the splitter and split the rest of the pile. I hope. Still quite a bit there. But I think if the small army comes out later this morning and starts stacking while I'm splitting, we can get the entire pile stacked and the rest of it split and stacked. That will be a good workout for all.

I generally eyeball now with the Gassification boiler taking up to 26". So the wood now ends up being 20-24 inches. Unfortunately my eye is not so good sometimes. I have a whole pile of buggers that are about 25.5-27.5! UGH! Won't fit in splitter. Those rounds I showed a picture of were double length though. At least 36-48". Can't remember why I left them like that.
