I'll try not to get ''political'' but here's my rant -

    http://www.gopusa.com/freshink/2014...tims-of-bullying-to-grow-a-pair/?subscriber=1

Good for him.About time someone stepped up & said what was needed. As someone of smaller than average size growing up,I was bullied almost daily from age 7 to 13 or so.Finally started to get some size & it was payback time.I decided then that no longer would I allow myself to be bullied. And to this day over 35 years later that holds true.No one will bully me,no matter who they are or how much bigger. They try that once & will soon find out how quickly I respond. And they sure wont like the results.

One thing a bully understands is force - if they realize if hitting you once results in them getting knocked on their azz (or worse),they will reconsider & leave you alone. This applies to both individuals or entire countries.

Yea I was pretty little growing up too. Still not a big guy but I never backed down still don't. I think that may be why their is so much bullying. Kids are afraid to stick up for themselves for fear of getting in trouble by the school, parents etc... to paraphrase Mike Ness "I was about 4'8" and I hit the biggest mf there". Holds true if you can take out a big guy most of time your left alone. I learned that early. I guess like my friends said though were there is no common sense theirs no fear. I just feel bad for kids coming up. You can't even defend yourself for fear of punishment. Of course too when we fought no one pulled a gun either we all knew what a gun would do.

This is what happens when your country is following a collectivization model. Individual achievement is downplayed. Kids are wussified on purpose.

An elementary school very near here got a new principal. Out went anything that was not PC. no Christmas, Easter, or Valentines. No songs that referenced God. Maine just published grades for school's academic performance. That school received an "F". Motivation and incentives are dead at that school. Too bad.

Thought about that route but we are one of those single family incomes. I would rather my wife raise the boys than a daycare. May look into it a little more.

You're the envy of many parents I'm sure. Good for you! Taking care of those lil guys is a major full time job. Very cool. Looks like you found the right gal...

Yea I give her a ton of credit. She doesn't always think so but I do. My wife helped out taking care of my great grandparents in their later years a ton and we weren't even married. Sometimes it gets a little touchy but we love each other a lot. She is a good mother and puts up with my schedule and call ins and such.

Marriages that don't get a little touchy once in a while, usually don't last long. My wife did the same helping me take care of both my folks too.

I've got 2 girls and one is getting ready to start pre school. She's a little rough since she played with mostly adults her whole life for the most part til she started pre school. The one year old is even rougher since she has a 5 year old big sister. I haven't had any problems with her bullying at school and she always behaves there. I hope she will stay that way. There's a big wussification of the US public going on with everything. The guns are evil and you get funny looks about growing your own garden.

I agree with everything here except for one little fact. Cannot trust that a five year old is going to tell you the truth when asked who hit who first......
These situations are part of growing up. IMHO they should be discussion points (and punishment if necessary) and hopefully they take enough in to make good decisions as adults.

Unfortunately we are celebrating kids just showing up nowadays. It's going to be a rude awakening when they reach the real world and cannot compete. Maybe that's why we have sknmany issues today.

When I look around at the successful people today they all have one thing in common. They worked hard for what they have.

    Hard work= Success
    Just showing up=a trophy

I know what I am instilling in my children

I've noticed too that... hard working parents tend to have active hard working kids. Not always, but... kids tend to learn all of their core values from their mom and dad. Both the good, and not so good stuff. Being aware of how important our behavior is to our kids, as parents, goes a long way to developing healthy & happy young adults in this nutty crazy world. Taking the high road isn't always the easiest path, but knowing our kids are watching makes it a little easier.

Some people think you need everything from the grocery store. Its not many in my area but a few look at us like we're crazy talking about raised garden beds and having chickens and ducks on our lot.
