How many here started their fishing career with this type of equipment, coupled with black line, a lead sinker, a cork, and long shanked hook?

Complete with a can of freshly dug worms?

Lots of fish were cleaned and fried in our home after we employed these methods!

I'm not sure if you are referring to the Ice Boxes or when I cut ice?

The old guy I cut ice for had a farm and a camp (rental cabins) not far up the road from our cottage and where my mother grew up. My mother worked for him in the 50's and I cut ice for him in the 80's. I am sure they started with hand saws but when I did it, we had a chainsaw mounted to a frame that we push. The old guy passed away early 2000's and I am not sure if his sons/grandsons still cut ice.

This resembles our bathroom set up at our off grid cabin/camp in NE MN. We use it all winter with temps sometime approaching -30f.

One of the first jobs after starting a fire in the stove is shoveling a path to the outhouse.

I still use a HP calculator. Once you go RPN (Reverse Polish notation) it's hard to go back. Actually I don't use my calculator as much because there are amazing HP calculator apps for your phone that completely emulates the real HP calculators.
