We had a little blow last night. Between all the gypsy moths and EAB ct is ripe with dead trees. Looks like a war zone in my hood. Trees, poles, lines all over the roads. Gotta say, between mine, my mothers and my sisters house we have the only relatively clean street. Just had all our dead trees along the road cut because we were tired of waiting for the town to do it. May not be hearing from some of our Ct contingent for a few days
My south jersey area was spared, not sure about others but watching the news suburbs of Philly got hit pretty hard. Lots of damage to houses, many trees and power lines down. Keeping my eye open for a good score, I should have time tomorrow afternoon.
I havent even seen the news. Cellular is horrible out here in the sticks and of course cable and electric is down. Went out for a spin at 3.30 this morning. Did a lot of long distance backing up LOL
I’ve got power here in northern Connecticut but much of my town is out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had a couple limbs and power lines down in my area. Not horrendous. However 3 of the towns that send students to the school I teach at had 2 hour delays based on power outages and road conditions (ability of the buses to get through). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did it stay at two hours? My town had a two hour delay. We were just talking about it. Not sure how they’re going to open with all the roads blocked. Ever source was so inundated their outage maps were way behind. they’re using snowplows to clear the small trees.
Not to worry Joe, im here or do you mean ill be out hoarding??? Nothing down around here although i have yet to go out. We were a bit concerned. Landlords section of driveway has a couple big leaners and God forbid he has to spend money to take them down. Three times the driveway trees have taken power out for us being 1/4 mile off the road. She filled a few gallons of water as we have a well. Saw that nearly 80K without power in CT. You going to get some of the bounty?
On my way to RI. Sister wants to buy a horse wagon for a garden display. LOL. Nuts but seeing as there no juice I went along. I was half worried with your unbridled Enthusiasm you’d be out there chopping those big lines off your new presents with a bolt cutter.
Power was out at 130 last night. Came back at 930 this morning. The wind was ripping last night Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks to be primarily on the eastern side of the state. I remember state wide being clobbered 8 years ago with the "SnowTober" event- and then again with the microbursts and tornadoes 2 years ago. Edit- might have been "macro"bursts.
unbridled ="not married" or is that unbrided?!!! I may be crazy but i aint dumb! March of last year one Nor'Easter brought a huge oak down across our lower driveway. Power out over 4 days, no TV/internet for 8!!! Driveway blocked for day and a half. There was lines tangled amongst the tree. LL's son wanted me to buck tree which i said no because of the wires. If power company had given me okay i would have of course or if emergency. The other son came back from vacation and cleared it next day. I ended up processing all the wood and got half of it. His mound still sitting where i dumped it 19 months ago! First real good use of my 460 right after i got it up and running.
I was supposed to be in Danbury the day after the snowtober event. Couldnt even got out of our driveway with the ice from what i remember.
There sure was some wind last night. Surprisingly very few branches down in the yard. But the trees do look fairly blown out. So I have big piles of leaves everywhere to clean up this weekend instead of branches.
Power out, trees and branches down all over. On the plus side no work today, mild temp and Fox Farm Brewing opened under Gen power. Hope everyone gets back to normal soon.
Got home from RI to find this in the corner of the yard. Possibly there this morning but I didn’t see it. There were some hungry ants in this thing. Landed on the old wood wagon. Knocked a small choke cherry into the field were I do my woodn. Well it’s all close to the processing area anyway.
