Thanks for reminding me of Swedish candles. I bucked some birch from my mini honey hole over the Summer to save for them. Hafta make and set aside. Saw then the other day.
Those big uns would make a serious candle for sure! Wonder what the largest recommended size is?

I clicked the pics real quick and didnt give them a close up inspection, or a good sniff. The yard had a wonderful pine smell! Homeowner was keeping all the chips and had a few mounds dumped. FHC air freshener!

I like having pine around... I think it makes great filler wood and use it to burn down my coals

I sell them, it's just barely enough to make it worth doing.....

I just hate wasting a beautiful log.

They are not...well yet RobGuru . Asplundh was cutting there Wednesday working on more of the pines and a nice sugar maple which i spied! I lost out on another Asplundh cutting (people changed their mind) so i went and knocked on the door, asked and got the go ahead to cut & load in their yard as its WAY too dangerous on the section of road where the wood is.
Im going to ask a friend if he would burn the pine and i would cut and haul it for him.
I have to work time to get them and would like to get the maple first then maybe the pine.
I will inform all as wood is taken from this source. Stay tuned!

I wish i had a way. No way to remove a big log, no place to bring it and no mill. If i had a spot to bring it i would get a basic mill and ripping chain for the 460 and give it a try. I have a few Eastern red cedar logs too id like to mill but theses were small enough for me to load "the hard way" in my PU.
