I was in the local HD today and I was surprised to see they were selling both FSU and Chows. Earlier this year they only had the Chows.

I think this is the first year I haven't fired the stove in October,. 12:30 am, 60 degrees out and will be upper 60's with rain in the am.

Heck, only a light frost so lawns are still growing !

X3 we have not fired the stoves up yet either, on account of how mild the weather has been. Seems another side affect of the mild weather is we have some of the best fall foliage colors we’ve seen.

Same here. Annoying thing is the FSU finder website shows all the local Home depot's sell them, but nobody has them.

Its 69 degrees here, dewpoint 66, muggy as all get out with rain, and high winds expected shortly. Have 30+ now but expecting 50-60 with squall line.

But I did service stove today, going to have first freeze tomorrow night.

I hate to admit it but I find the Chows are burning great this year , But ! unfortunately HD staff still brutalize them which I told them directly .

Interesting for sure as I thought after reading numerous post that the Chows would be better than the FSU.
My experience with FSU but this was at least 2 - 3 years ago was that they burned pretty dang hot but were ashy so maybe I should purchase a few bags and give it a go again to see how much ash they create and of course if they still give off great heat.

I've had good luck with both Chows and FSU.It's a dirty shame how those poor pellets are treated at those big box stores.I see unwrapped skids just sitting in the rain all the time.
