Asplundh hasnt been around much and most of the wood around has gone. Im still waiting for them to finish the pine just up the street from me. The guy i did the chain saw job for told me of their cutting on the side street just down from him. All of the wood ive scored has been on the main roads in town. Went to check it out. White oak and pignut hickory in one area and red oak in the other. Went Wednesday and cut a partial load. I cut the nice sections of logs and left all the gnarlies/knotties roadside. One of their poorer cuttings. Cant load pics from other chip, but these are the rounds at my friends. More to be bucked there on the ground and they have the stems to fell too. IMG_1279.JPG
Second pic is a load of red oak nuggets/shorts from a cutting over a month ago. Im beyond hoarded with oak nuggets and honestly wanted to leave them but owner asked me to get them and i had my sign up too. They have more wood in their back yard for me to cut come Winter so i wanted to stay good with them. IMG_1281.JPG

Think about it this way.. State forest - who paid for the tree service to cut the trees? I think you're just recouping some of your tax dollars!
