While walking the dog yesterday I spotted a tree service truck. They were from a town about 30 miles away. I asked if they were going to need someplace local to dump wood. I ended up with some nice straight white pine which looks like it will split nicely, although I may end up burning the county down. I told them anytime they need to unload wood to feel free to dump it here. Sledge included in pic for scale.

I had about 1.5 cord of ash delivered from right across the street, last year. I heard the saws running, so off I went and asked. Made me happy.
If you dont ask you dont get. Pine is my shoulder season wood, mixed with some maple. I need fires that go out quick this time of year or else it gets too hot in the house.
No problem finding spots to store it, so I could fill the yard. There would be loud cries of protest from my lovely bride though so I don't. If she only knew how much is stashed out of sight about the property...
