Not quite to Scotty "O" 's standards,
but got it up & running.
    ....
Steam Engine been inactive for 2 years, some rust (bark) needed removed.

Retrofit some 2019 parts with some of the older weathered parts.

    Old stack was useable.

Test run, it had a few glitches, just needed a tweek here & there .

    ....
It needs to be in good shape,
it has a long trip , thru some nasty weather ahead.

Gotta admit I forgot about the train. Was looking forward to seeing the guts of an old steam locomotive Hahahaha.

Nice job. I hope I don’t get any crazy ideas.

Toot toot, full steam ahead. Your line is clear and the rail is green.

    Mostly Fire starter .
But this got thrown away, have lots.

....lots of the top splits , the bark was loose & damp under the bark. Specially the
splits that were bark side down....Makes me rethink my stacking method, maybe I
should stack bark side up all the way thru the stack .???

bookofjoe: Experts' Experts: Should you stack firewood bark up or bark down?
Personally, I stack bark side up. But I top cover all my stacks, so it probably doesn't matter.

Great to see the train again. I was thinking yesterday that I hoped you would bring the train back! Thanks!

Yea, warm enough for a bike ride 47°.
    Daylight around 9:30
    .....
Got some clean up to do.
    Stack the uglies,
    roll up the carpets
    Burn the splitter “tailings”

I think the bark dries on the edges &
rolls back a little. The rain get in.
    Watertight bark hold the moisture
    in....loosens more of the bark.....
Most issues were with the 1/3 - 1/2
    moon shapes.

For sure I think birch is the one which is bothered the most with this.

I’ve thought about different methods for a
    Top cover,
Have yet to come up with something inexpensive & workable.
I’ve had the winter wind blow the
    top split off the stack.
    ....
    Should’ve built a bigger shed :D

How about some old metal roofing then tie it down like one might tie down a mobile home?
