Ok here in Minnesota salt on our winter road screws up any paint job on trailers . So I used herculiner on the whole frame . Here's a picture of the front beam . Anyone else ever give this a try . I'm putting on 2 coats . It's going on pretty good very messy though . Takes a bit of patience. It's bit like taring a cement wall on a house. [IMG]

Years ago I did the interior floor and outside rockers on my Jeep with it. Lasted very well everywhere I put in the time for good prep. I would yearly freshen it up with black spray paint. It would fade , I’m told UV will break it down but never experienced that .

Yes...its all about the prep, the prep, the prep! Skimp there and you get to watch all that work go PFFT! in a year or two.
Same here...got out because too many people jumped into the game undercutting my price...by not spending the time to do proper prep work. Anything can look good for a few months...or even a year or two on "grocery getters". But 10 years down the road I can tell you which ones are quality product, and had proper prep...and pretty much the same with any paint or coating type product these days...gone are the days where you can slobber some goopy black paint on stuff and it sticks to anything and last forever (thank the EPA for that one) We had some paint at the mill years back that would stick to greasy metal...no kidding! Can't buy that no mo!

Prep... drove me nuts wire brush, sanding disk water washed then exylene wipe down wait 30 mins. Then applied herculiner went on super nice covered nicely with there applicator .. It was even super hard after 12 hours dry time . It's pretty dang good stuff ..
I can always hit it with black paint if it fades. My main issue is repel salt from Winter roads. I'm thinking of even using huciliner on axles and leaf springs .

There is much better stuff out then POR 15. epoxy primer and etching primer is way better then POR 15 for example.
That stuff is old/bad news anymore.

I saw a jeep one time at a gas station and the whole thing was painted with that stuff. It did not look bad and it does hold up well.

Who knows what you saw, there are literally over a hundred different bedliner brands / applications.

I can tell you, heculiner will absolutely not stand up to direct sunlight and direct contact to elements every day, all the time and so on..
That stuff will turn gray and it will definitely, without a doubt, crack and peal.
So chances are, you didnt see herculiner, you saw a different product.

That is entirely possible, I hear the word bed liner and assume they are all similar. So I guess not.

If what you say is correct I would not put the herculiner on my trailer.

Did you read the part about spraying bedliners professionally in a prior job?
I gotta back LXJ on this one...Herculiners track record is poor at best...you just can't get the same results with a consumer grade product vs pro grade that is installed with 10's of thousands of dollars of specialized equipment, and factory training...at least if you are comparing apples to apples (both had prep done correctly)
Now if you compare Herculiner that was applied with proper prep vs the pro grade liner applied with improper prep...might be a closer contest...maybe. Herculiner still gets too hard and cracks after a while...and fades if its in the sun a lot...not that the fading part matters much for a trailer.
I think this should hold up at least as well as a good paint job for ya...

I have absolute hands on experience with it.

I bet ive removed over 4000 herculiner "roll in" bedliners. That stuff is absolute garbage when compared to a quality high pressure spray.
that 4000 number isnt a typo. The place i sprayed at, we had file boxes full of notebooks where we recorded all of our bedliner removals and
    beds that we sprayed.

Go to google, type in "Herculiner bedliner fade"

Ya roll it on black, and in less then a year its the color of your gray hairs.
The color pigments get destroyed very quickly, It becomes brittle, you will literally "shave" it off your bed by dragging things in and out of your bed.
That is what herculiner is known to do...

Well it will work perfect for me .. I'm not putting it on 10,000 to 35,000 dollar truck only a $6000 dollar trailer . And only cost $150 bucks . So it's perfect product for the application.. better then any regular paint . Time will tell all.

What’s the recommended product for a bed liner on a 15 year old truck that I intend to keep another 10-30 years. We have LineX and Rhino locally not opposed to driving a little ways if needed to have it done.
