Hey all, I just found this site yesterday. A video by Life in Farmland on youtube sent me here as he mentions this site in one of his tips. Great channel if you've not seen it. This is my 1st order of wood. 3 cords. Tough to see it all from this angle but It measured out properly after stacked. It's been stacked since May of 2019 and seems to be measuring consistently under 20% and has been burning clean. I'll be getting more delivered to sit over the winter. Hoping 3 cords hold us over us well this winter. We shall see! Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. About 200 meters from the ocean so amazing winds almost all the time. I definitely have some stack envy, just sayin!
That’s a good looking stack to me ! My first yr as well. What’s a cord cost up there ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hello and welcome from New England. This might be helpful to you. Primer on Woodburning by Backwoods Savage Other helpful things can be found above under resources.
Welcome Nice stack Off the ground, in an open sunny breezy area. Top cover would be nice , but in your windy area, that makes it a challenge
Are those blueberries in the background ? $185 would be a real good price for 20% here, even for maple .
Hey shik , welcome aboard. Nice lookin' stacks. Lots of wind is gooder. Eric (k?) Life In Farmland is a member here. I watch his vids anytime he puts one up on the Tube.
shik welcome to the land of BTU's. Glad to have you join us. Sounds like you are off to a great start. Your stacks looks great. What saw do you have?
Yeah, I've been waffling as to how to cover it so that it's still accessible but won't keep getting rained on. We just got hit with Hurricane Dorian and we got 140km/hr (90mph) winds and we regularly get 70-80km/hr 45mph-50mph winds during the fall and winter.
I'm just purchasing at the moment but as I get more settled I'll be looking to process myself as well as try to score what I can. I'd love to eventually fence the yard with firewood stacks
Welcome aboard shik Looks like you've done a bit of homework to make sure you've got good dry wood. Glad that you found the site.
Welcome shik, always good to see other Canadians on here, another great site for info is woodheat.org . Here in my neck of the woods a bushcord dumped in your yard is about $350.00 if you need to buy, but always free wood around, not always good but free.
