I got to find a way to take these and put them on DVD or something as nobody has reel-to-reel players anymore for my grandfather's home movies
Knothead thats an easy one...... Its a proliferation area for adolescents with the optional audio enhancement device!
I was gonna dl the first pic and ask the game.. It was labeled crokinole1 Never heard of that. Nor do I know the rules of backgammon. We have an oil lamp for power outage use. We even have a bedpan. I told Chazsbetterhalf that I should make an "In case of emergency break glass." case for it and mount it on the wall.
i had all of those ,i know the rocket engines are still around but those planes were great ,crashed more than one ,i can still smell the fuel
Do you think kid would recognize a vacuum tube? I have my grandparents antique Westinghouse DC radio at home with these type of vacuum tubes in it.
We used to play Crokinole and backgammon a lot as kids. However with a crokinole game board being around 4' across it wasn't all that portable. Come to think of it, I can't quite remember the rules of backgammon either
I was in a best buy a year or so ago, and in the high dollar home theater room they had several McIntosh tube amps for sale. I didnt realize they were even made anymore. Beautiful amps with the tubes on display.
I do, kinda like playing pool with tiny donuts if I remember correctly...Seems there were sticks to shoot with, but we always just flicked them with our fingers.
Remember the driveway signal bell at the old gas stations? Signal sounded once you drove over the rubber hose. Jumping onto the hose also worked!
Carom board, ohhhhh the aching fingers, flick it and hit that ring, oh man that could sting. We weren't allowed to use the sticks, didn't know they were part of the game for years! Dad owned and operated a Mobil gas station for over 20 years. Want to pi$$ him off, jump on the hose, he would come unglued!
Let's see, backgammon. White and black chips. Lined them up opposite sides of the board. Took turns rolling dice for your moves. You had to get all of your chips to the your opponents start position. I think if you landed on your opponents chip, they had to put that to their start. First one to get all their chips to the other side of the board won. That's the closest I can come.
