Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. If the weather cooperates, we are going back over to our son's house and work some more. Took Miz Carol to the Dr yesterday for the bug bite. He gave her some antibiotics and told her to use hot compresses on it. He will probably drain it Wednesday, she had a bad night with it, lot of pain. She could use a little extra prayer.
    Remember the Golden Rule.

That was a bad bug that bit Miz Carol! I hope draining it makes it feel better.
The power is back on in Malden at last! They needed to clear out the trees in back of the house, but not that way. Probably the only way it would ever happen, though. At least insurance paid for some of it.
I filled 12 yard bags with pine needles yesterday, and I'll probably do it again today. The lawn mower picks them up nicely, just have to keep emptying the catcher bag. It is high cleanup season now, but maybe I'll sneak in some wood work later in the week.
I've been having poplar fires for a few hours each morning, to warm up the basement for the cat's morning nap. I'm opening a window by the afternoon.
Rain later, so I better get busy. Have a great day all!

I could put together something like that. I have the same leaf blower that's used in the video. Thanks!

Good morning everyone! Rainy now, but supposed to clear up by 10A or so. Yesterday I took up 15 bags of leaves and pine needles, so today I'll work on firewood as a reward. Maybe split the oak I got at the dump on Friday. I need to rebuild the oak vault, so I'd like to get whatever oak is kicking around ready to stack.
Still no killing frost in the forecast, just 60° days and 40° nights. I don't remember ever going past Halloween without a dip into the 20's. There are still mosquitos outside. I'm leaving my houseplants out for as long as this continues.
    Have a great day all!

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY. Cooled off some last night, 47° this morning, high about 72°. No fire today...:(:(...guess I'll be over at my son's house again. My hunny had to take our grandson to Dr appointment @10:30 and then she has Dr appointment @2:10 to see about her arm. She said it is still hurting, throbbing like a toothache. Hope she gets some relief today. Hope one day to get back to working on wood...:):)...until then, I will make the best of each day THE LORD gives me.

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TREMENDOUS THURSDAY. Another cool 41° this morning, 69° inside. Didn't build a fire. Hunny has a blanket. She went to Dr yesterday. He drained the spot on her arm, she is in a good bit of pain last night and today. Got more done at our son's house. More drain line run, got his service pole up, got to finish wiring it in. Have a great day. Remember the Golden Rule.

You are down a good helper, so sorry she's in pain. Was the bite infected? Any idea what kind of bug it was, a venomous spider?

Good morning everyone! I just split the oak today that I planned to split yesterday. By the time I got around to it yesterday, it was too hot out, 70°! I'm back to hand splitting for the time being, and I didn't feel like sweating. I'll buy my own splitter next time I get a big wood score, no point in buying one before I need it.
No car today, so I'll get a lot done. Have a good day all!

Yes ma'am, it was infected. He has her on meds and sent off a culture. Don't know what it was the bit her. I'm guessing spider, she was helping her mom move.

Glad they got it drain and on meds. Hope they have her putting moist heat on it. Will help it to drain.
Poor Holly decided she would meet the skunk about 10:30 last nite. Chaz gave her a quick bath and gave himself a shower. She still stinks and has had to spend nite outside. Another bath tonight.
For some reason, we lost power for about an hour. But it is back on.
Hope everybody has a good afternoon.

Having a great afternoon, other than a father and son screaming match across the street. I put bits of plywood under the rubber on my big oak stack to level out the top. Also added a new rack, so I can move leftover dry wood out of the oak vault. Then I can start filling the vault with the new oak that's in the driveway.
    Progress....

The concoction of peroxide, dawn and baking soda really works. We had to use it on our cat a few years ago. We found out that tomato juice doesn't work:emb:

Think that is probably what we will try. Can't even imagine how much fun it was bathing a cat. Thanks for the feedback.

Poor Holly...hope she doesn't mind a bath or two. I know she hates being put outside.
Miz Carol's arm is draining today, changed her bandage tonight. It's been hurting her a good bit. Maybe each day will get better.
