Looking great Dennis and must feel good to get that done and be ready for ole man winter. I see your leaves are in full swing, looks beautiful!!
Looking good! But I'd like to point out two things, please. 1. The size of your wood pile is much smaller than mine! 2. the trees here are almost 100% bare of leaves! Let her snow!
Taking up golf eh? Electric or gas.? Got chains for it? ..... Nice stack. A big chore to check off the list
Great feeling to be ready. I'm sure not. Timing on a large outdoor project has delayed me getting wood to the basement. Please don't let 'er snow...
Looking good, Dennis! I have a 1/2 cord of smaller red maple/elm rounds from a few deads we removed the last few weeks stacked in the garage, that should get me til the end of the month. It was rock-solid and bone-dry, so i took it right off the trailer and into the garage. I'll haul a bunch of oak/hard maple up from my hoard for the month of Nov.....
Leaves are turning really fast now and we've lost a bunch of them the last few days with this wind. Overall, I have to say we might be a bit behind on the color this year but that's okay. Also the colors are not as bright on most as they usually are and seems we have a bit more yellow this year and not as much red. The leaves you see in that picture are witch hazel and they are about normal for this year. They also have lots of nuts this year so the turkeys will be happy for sure.
Yes, leaf drop is a bit behind this year. I also don't have an OWB. You also will get many times more snow than we will. I think this year will be more than we've had for several years as the last few we've had very little; plow driveways 3 times per winter is not much snow. Also our deepest snowfall last year was around 6" and that did not last long.
