And send me to the dummy farm! My 25 ton TSC splitter with a Kohler motor just wouldn't stay running. It's been a few months since it was last started and it was stored in a shed and run dry of gas. I put fresh e-free fuel in it, turned on the fuel supply and it started on the third pull. It ran about 2 minutes and shut off like I hit the kill switch. After checking filters, oil level and the basics, I finaly found the problem I TURNED THE FUEL SHUT-OFF SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION RATHER THAN THE ON POSITION! OOOOOHHHHH MANNNNN! What a dummy, or, early onset dementia! :hair::emb::rofl:

At least you found the problem and hadn't towed it to your local OPE mechanic. LOL

    :p

We've all been there. If not exactly there on the green, at least in the fairway. Backwards chains, etc...

I'm sitting in my tree stand reading this and look down and notice I do not have an arrow in my crossbow. Of course I heard about a guy once, yea that's it I heard about a guy that sat in the woods and had a nice deer come in to sight, raised the gun and click.....always helps if you load the gun.

I tried starting my FIL's generator that always fires on 2-3 pulls. 6-8 pulls later I turn the on switch to the on position. Problem solved!

Ralphie Boy I have a hard time trying to figure out which is on and which is off on the fuel cutoff valves. There must be people out there inventing ways to mess with senior citizens.:BrianK::BrianK::BrianK:

I went into our garage one evening to see what the banging was all about, WWW had just got home. He could not get the tailgate in the new to us 99' F250 open and thought it was jammed. Did not believe me till I opened the door and pressed the "unlock" button since there was no keyhole for a lock. Guess this could go on what kids would not recognize today too after the talk of old vehicle door knobs, locks latch releases and different roller windows except opposite because and electric lock tailgate was news to him.

Sadly yes, most of us have done dumb things like that and I've probably done more than my share.

Locust Post I'll not forget the one time I was heading out hunting. Fortunately I only got about 50 yards from the house before I realized I didn't even have my bow with me. I was just walking out to the blind... sort of blinded.

I worked for a small family business before and use to run the fuel out and than turn the fuel switch off in spring on snowblower. Than in fall I was asked to get it ready and I would spend all afternoon trying to get it to run. Magically at quitting time it would start.

I often wonder how long it took them to figure it out when I quit.

"Turn the gas on dummy" stickers used to be really commonly seen on dirtbikes and ATV's...sold a lot of them at the bike shop.
