I ran into a friend, hes a roofer/ builder. He told me all his wood is somewhat green for this winter, it was bucked up in piles for a year and then recently split. Hes got it stocked now in rows and says he keeps wetting it with the hose and letting it dry then wetting it again, same process over and over. I just listened and didnt say anything but “wow iv never heard of that process”. Umm i feel very puzzled rt now and im gonna stop typing and see if anyone can figure out his thinking behind this or is he just nuts. :hair:

I'd say this about fits the bill. Only thing I can think of is he thinks it will give it a weathered look and somehow with twisted logic be dry.

Would save him a bunch of time if he let the rain do that.

I heard that centipedes are a million BTUs per cord.

That is such a weird thing to do. The logic just escapes me. I took a bunch of MM readings of the ash that I split yesterday. This was all dead eab killed ash, cut down before memorial day weekend, and I cut it all into rounds by memorial day weekend. I then hauled and piled it for me to split later. Well a couple weeks into finally good weather to split a few cords of wood and it's done after sitting for about 4 months. MM readings of this wood were all in the mid to low twenties. It will get rained on and dried by the sun and wind numbers of times, until I get it stacked and covered, but I'd never water it intentionally.

Did you ask him what his logic was to intentionally water it down? Followed up with the next statement " You do know that water doesn't burn, right?"

Donald Trump walks into an exclusive Manhatten pet shop and asks for the most expensive pet. "We have a talking centipede, let me show you" The clerk brings it out and sure enough it starts talking "hello Mr. Presidents, nice to meet you" Im looking for a good home. Will you buy me, id love to be your pet?"
How much? $10,000. He writes a check and brings it home.
Later that night he is going out to get a drink. "Hey centipede, you wanna go get a drink"?, No response. He yells it again, still no reponse. Getting mad that it isnt talking, he yells really loud one last time. "HEY CENTIPEDE, YOU WANNA GO GET A DRINK"? The centipede lifts his head up and exclaims, "hang on a minute, im putting my shoes on"!
