Yep, same here. I find it really hard to throw it on the fire when its not necessarily cooking anything but have to remind myself that wood grows on trees and..cherry seems to be plentiful here where I am. That being said I like getting it if it’s easy to get.

Golf course I have access to (I’ve taken Stoveaclause there) has dozens and dozens of cut cherry tree trunks stacked like matchbox in the dump. I’m free to take whatever I want. We have a few cords of cherry rounds at my buddies place amongst the other mixed rounds waiting to split

Oh my. Stop right there and step away from the splitter. THAT is a beautiful sight. Somehow it can still be salvaged for something, no? :(

Another good thing about Cherry is that it's very rot-resistant. I've found 'em down in the woods with all the sapwood rotted away, but the heart is still in great shape. I love dat Cheery wood! :)

Since the thread is six years old, it's probably too late. :D

This is part of my cherry log stash I have access to. And the next picture is of about 6-7 chords of 1 year plus aged rounds of mixed Cherry, Maple And Oak we have stored at a buddies house
