I took out some peoples power around that time at work. Wasn't yours though. Unfortunately a huge tree limb broke out last night broke some crossarms and stuff. The tragic part was the tree fell on a car and killed the driver. I feel horrible for his family and friends. Just goes to show when your time is up its up.

Man... a tree falling at the exact time a car goes under it. Bad timing is everything. Very sad. 5 seconds earlier or later...

I broke down yesterday and bought a small cultivator/tiller. It made short work of the smaller of the two large beds. Could have done it by hand but it would have taken about 5 days of time I really don't have with the mowing season upon us and the likelihood of showers. Been trying to keep ahead of the boss' planting not working out all that well. I can now work on the large bed, the compost bins, and mowing along with other stuff without getting too far behind. The new toy worked fine, it is small but our beds are fairly loose after having been using them for 6 seasons this is the seventh.

Cooked some pork chops on the grill this evening and am now enjoying some 'shine.

    FIRE!

Rain came at good time. After it quit I was able to get the large fire going in the back yard. The clean up from the winter damage. Hopefully you can make it out. It's about 3 feet tall.

So. I was up at midnight today, threw 20,000 lbs of groceries, drove 300 miles that I got paid for, and another 200 in my car, before I pulled into a roadside park, in the middle of nowhere in northern Michigan, for a snooze. It's time, right? About 15 minutes later, there is a sheriff deputy and a local volly tapping on my window to see if I was passed out drunk. Which, I must admit, isn't out of the realm of possibility, at 4 on a Saturday afternoon, on a holiday weekend.

    But sheesh.

Off to the cemetery this morning to plant some flowers. A tradition handed down to me from my father. I used to go with him doing the same, many years ago, last time together was in the spring of 1990. I remember him (with cancer making him very weak) on his knees digging around his mother's stone. Smiling, he said when he was a kid he used to moan and groan when he'd go with his mother to plant the flowers... then he said, now I know why it was so important to her.

Another day that no mowing will get done, everything is wet and there is a 30% chance of more wet falling today and 50% chance tomorrow. I will need to get a tractor to go haying at this rate.

Got the chit scared out of me today. I was cleaning up after changing the oil and my 3 and 5 year old boys were outside playing. Next thing I know I hear a horrible crashing sound in the garage followed by silence. I knew immediately by 3 year old had pulled my stand-up tool box over. The silence was nerve racking though. Ran in to find him standing there. Thankfully it did not fall on him and must have grazed him on the arm some. I think he may have opened the bottom drawer all the way and tried to climb up it. I hate to think of what could have happened their is a lot of tools in it. The mess I can deal with

can you strap that tool box to a wall or bolt it somewhere? Just thinking ahead. Glad your son is ok, probably dropped a clinker in his pants on that one :)
