    Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a SPLENDID SUNDAY. Finally got my 60 hrs of nite shift done, off today. Get to go worship the LORD in church this morning, and then go visit mama for a bit. Maybe get some normal :sleeping: for a few days. Hope y'all get a chance to worship our CREATOR today...
    Count your BLESSINGS, not your PROBLEMS.

    Thanks brother. She is doing some better. Closer to home and she knows some of the people at the center where she is. Have fun picking the just right pumpkin, just like getting the Christmas tree. Enjoy your day.

    Good morning.

    After days of overcast, drizzly weather, there's blue sky overhead today!

    Time to get out the leaf blower and weed line trimmer. Good reasons to get outside and enjoy the day.

    Time to remove weeds and anything that has sprouted around the yard. Those sprouts catch leaves when I'm trying to blow them into the woods.

    Also, it's time to start policing around the wood racks so nothing gets caught in my snow blower, in a couple of months.

    Frost here. One of my favorite poems from college.

    When the Frost is on the Punkin
    BY JAMES WHITCOMB RILEY

    When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock,
    And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin’ turkey-cock,
    And the clackin’ of the guineys, and the cluckin’ of the hens,
    And the rooster’s hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
    O, it’s then’s the times a feller is a-feelin’ at his best,
    With the risin’ sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
    As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
    When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock.

    They’s something kindo’ harty-like about the atmusfere
    When the heat of summer’s over and the coolin’ fall is here—
    Of course we miss the flowers, and the blossums on the trees,
    And the mumble of the hummin’-birds and buzzin’ of the bees;
    But the air’s so appetizin’; and the landscape through the haze
    Of a crisp and sunny morning of the airly autumn days
    Is a pictur’ that no painter has the colorin’ to mock—
    When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock.

    The husky, rusty russel of the tossels of the corn,
    And the raspin’ of the tangled leaves, as golden as the morn;
    The stubble in the furries—kindo’ lonesome-like, but still
    A-preachin’ sermuns to us of the barns they growed to fill;
    The strawstack in the medder, and the reaper in the shed;
    The hosses in theyr stalls below—the clover over-head!—
    O, it sets my hart a-clickin’ like the tickin’ of a clock,
    When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock!

    Then your apples all is gethered, and the ones a feller keeps
    Is poured around the celler-floor in red and yeller heaps;
    And your cider-makin’ ’s over, and your wimmern-folks is through
    With their mince and apple-butter, and theyr souse and saussage, too! ...
    I don’t know how to tell it—but ef sich a thing could be
    As the Angels wantin’ boardin’, and they’d call around on me—
    I’d want to ’commodate ’em—all the whole-indurin’ flock—
    When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock!

    Morning everyone :coffee:

    Little raw outside here as well 31° F with a nice frost covering.

    Got to enjoy some time at work again yesterday.
    :confused:

    Still better than not working though.
    :emptywallet:

    BIL is supposed to come up to sight in his rifle prior to deer season, then we may drop a couple more ash.
    :saw:

    Enjoy the day & stay safe everyone

    Good morning everyone! Foggy morning, but supposed to warm up to the middle 60's. I'll mow the back, maybe cut back some garden beds. And as always, move some wood around.
    We took a nice drive out to Winchester yesterday. We found a few logs left to hoard. Most of the maple leaves are still up in the trees. IMG_20191013_2562.jpg After they fall, the oaks put on a show. You can see them just starting to turn behind the maple.
    Have a good day all!

    Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a MARVELOUS MONDAY. Woke up this morning, that's a good start, even better, no dust. Finally got .01 rain last night, had more here at work. Back to working the hours of the living this week...7AM-7PM...but it's dark when I get off. Haven't had a chance to work on building the new big shed yet, if it was ready, we could CSS in it with our lights. Oh well, do what we can, when we can.
    Remember the Golden Rule.

    Too bad about your weather. Not to gloat, but we hit 70° with sunshine. This is my backyard maple, still has a ways to go. IMG_20191014_28470.jpg

    We are a bit behind on our color this year. First it appeared we'd have an early color season then it looked like we might not have much at all but suddenly it is happening. See some big differences daily.

    For example, in that first and second picture (same red maples) there was barely any color in the first one last week and nothing in the redder one behind it. Then is 3 days time, this is what we ended up with.

    I had headed in back to trade cards in trail camera but then went back to get my wife so she could enjoy the color tour. Here I stopped just to take a picture of the spruce but sadly the picture did not turn out as expected. Can't even tell there are some blue spruce in there. Also snuck a picture of Judy in here. 100_0760.JPG

    For those who came to our gtg, you might remember this spot; it is the camping area. 100_0762.JPG
