Interesting. According to Maine folklore, the red hot dogs are only in Maine. That, and supposedly it's illegal to sell Manhattan clam chowder in Maine. While I've never seen Manhattan chowder in Maine, it's probably not illegal.

That stuff with a tomato base, is soup, not chowder, in my opinion.

Fully agree. Chowder is cream based.
    Chowder - Wikipedia

    That red stuff is soup.

I never put ketchup on hot dawgs, but I often put BBQ sauce on them.
But if you want to do something great for a hot dawg, wrap it in bacon, stick 2 toothpicks in the ends to hold the bacon on, and roast in the oven at 300 for awhile. YUM!!

Also, why does she have a recipe for ketchup then?
    Homemade Spicy Ketchup

Also, why then does she list a ketchup recipe for use on HOT DOGS?
4 DIY Condiments That Will Make Hot Dogs More Delicious

Ketchup is used for hot dogs, sausages, onion rings, tater tots, and fries.

    Not much else.

Ketchup or catsup? For hot dogs...…??????????

Yeah, I use it along with onions relish mustard. But...……. if its a real good hot dog…… it can stand alone.

Kinda like pancakes. Yeah, frost them with butter and add maple syrup...…… unless they're real good....then they can stand alone....er, ah, with just the butter for company!

    Now there's a pancake!

Here's my 2 Maine blueberry pancakes from my trip. A good amount of real butter ( probably from Wisconsin) and Maine real maple syrup. For the record, Maple syrup tastes the same no matter what where it's from, as long as it's real maple syrup.
