Looks like mostly maple. Sugar and/or Norway variety. LOVE the fact that it was hand split too!AWHNR!

Tree ID tips for newbie's Also I usually like to tell folks to ask someone in your area as there are different trees in different areas and sometimes even the same type can look a bit different in a different area. Learn maybe 2 or 3 of the most popular ones. Next year learn 2 or 3 more, etc, etc. At least that is how I did it. I'm still not as good as many but I know most of the trees in our area at least and most of them on our place.
