I spent some time outside today splitting some rounds that I blocked last summer. Certainly on top of my 3 yr plan, but I have so many in process piles of logs and rounds that I am unable to keep up. I also have a few trees on the ground etc. I will say I come alive in the woods once the weather cools off, but I hate not having wood properly css. Oh yeah and 5 minutes ago I am Scouting on Craigslist. I think I have a major problem, but so do most of you.
You think you got issues? You silly goose. I haul wood from work to home almost daily and kept a load of cherry in my truck for almost 24 hours now. Other stuff has detained me from getting it out of the truck today but it’s gonna get done...yes I grab small pieces of wood from a fence company that cuts off cedar fence panels and 2x4 for bracing. On top of that I’m on Facebook and OfferUp hourly...
I dont see any issues. I still have some of my pile of Woe to go through, have trees down on my property, a cord or 2 at a farm I need to get, several black locusts at my sister and BIL to get plus whatever else is down in their woods. What do I do this morning? Look on CL. Im as sick as everyone else on here.
Only major problem you have, like us, is time to do it. I've had to haul it to the trash pile because I get it home and then get more before CSS the first...I've got logs now that have been cut at least 18 months or more. The pile behind the shed... weeks
damm that’s a bummer but there’s no sense in beating yourself over it. You don’t usually burn in an outdoor spot do you? When I had wood that was either so big it wasn’t worth cutting with a saw or splitting it I’d just throw it in my pit. Made a great fire usually!
Yes sir, we have a burn barrel and fire pit. We use the barrel when we are cutting in cold weather. That pile of logs will get processed, sorting out the good wood. We cut grass on the side too and last year had plenty of rain, kept us busy with that. This year has been dry, so finally got more wood cut, all sheds full. Going to build a big shed soon, 11x15x8.
You aren't likely to find support for that 12 step program you desperately need in this jungle of justifications.

If I was closer, I'd offer some of this wood I salvaged from pallets! ...really big pallets. Pallets that ski lift parts came on from Austria. Going to build an 8x16 foot chicken coop/storage with some of it.
Not sure, I'm no wood ID pro. It's light and soft, I'd imagine Austrian Pine or similar. I can easily handle the 16' 4x8 glulams by myself.
OVERHOARDED!!!INSOLENCE to this forum! JK!!! I normally have 10-12 cord and am approaching 45! Fortunately most of it CSS. Cord of each, red oak, hickory, sugar maple, red maple to SS. Cord of smaller diameter logs to CSS, few cord of splits to stack. I have access to many PU fulls of red oak less than two miles from me...ongoing Asplundh cutting and scored a new honey hole couple weeks ago. (i will post new thread when i start working it) How much total wood do you have Woodsnwoods that you are faced with this "dilemma"?
They were about 8x16 foot (from Austria, so 2.5x5 meters I think), and they pulled apart quite nicely! All held together by T40-head screws.
NICE! Hope you saved the screws! I wouldve. Never had a pallet screwed together. I get 3'x8' hardwood (oak, sugar maple, poplar) from a sheet metal supplier. Use circular saw to cut em up. Great repurpose BTW!
